Opening times and information

Charleston Farmhouse is a fascinating place to visit both for it's historical importance and its situation near Firle on the South Downs.

Lewes, (county town of East Sussex), is only a few miles away and is a busy and vibrant town packed full of interesting shops and places to eat. You should consider a visit to Lewes if you are coming over to visit Charleston.

There are various ways to get to Charleston Farmhouse. The easiest is by car but there are bus services too.

By road: Charleston is sign-posted off the A27 Brighton to Eastbourne road, 7 miles east of Lewes. There is parking at the farmhouse.

By rail: There is a regular service from London Victoria to Lewes and the nearest station to Charleston is Berwick which is about 2 miles away.

By bus: The Countryliner service 125 runs from Lewes on Wednesdays to Fridays. Call Traveline on 0870 6082608 or try www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk for more details.
